It's no mystery why the Para Acoustic DI is LR Baggs' best-selling preamp. It's a studio quality direct box combined with a feature packed, state-of-the-art preamp and equalizer. This little box has it all -- I suppose that's why I keep seeing world-class guitarists bringing these things up on stage with them. It has a balanced XLR out, a multi-band EQ, and the mid has a sweepable Q (from .4-1.6 KHz). It also includes a sweepable notch filter, phase inversion, and even an effects loop (single input, so you need a stereo cable). And finally, it's smaller than many popular DI boxes, so it carries with it the added advantage of fitting in your guitar case.




Rating: - Pleased, but not blown away yet
I have a Taylor acoustic with the Expression System electronics (pickup). The amplified sound was too tinny and not enough midrange and bass for my taste. So I heard of this Bagg's device and tried one out a few days ago at Guitar Center (with my Taylor.) Using a Crate acoustic amp, I should add. I could sense the Bagg's was doing things I liked, in conjunction with the Crate amp. However, my personal amp is an Ibanez. When I got it home, I wasn't as pleased with the sound. Rating: - Worth the Price
At first, i didn't want to spend $160 on the PAra Acoustic and was aiming to buy the APhex Acoustic Xicter that ran under $100. I did my research and found many professionals highly recommended the PAra Acoustic. I took a calculated risk and bought it and am very pleased with my decision.
The Para Acoustic has eight Knobs to control bass, tremble, presence and others this can look complicated but it comes with a simple instruction manual that shows you how to effectively tweak it.

Rating: - Ideal for Acoustics with Piezo pickups
I've been using one of these for a few years now and I love it. I play a Seagull acoustic that I had a piezo pickup installed in. The parametric EQ on the LR Baggs box lets me dial out the harsh tinny sounds that are over emphasized by the pickup, and dial in the warmer tones to more closely match the un-amplified sound of my guitar.
