I have a Taylor acoustic with the Expression System electronics (pickup). The amplified sound was too tinny and not enough midrange and bass for my taste. So I heard of this Bagg's device and tried one out a few days ago at Guitar Center (with my Taylor.) Using a Crate acoustic amp, I should add. I could sense the Bagg's was doing things I liked, in conjunction with the Crate amp. However, my personal amp is an Ibanez. When I got it home, I wasn't as pleased with the sound. Bottom line, it is probably essential that you consider the amplifier with this box. There will be a different sound, in terms of tones, richness, etc, depending on which amp you utilize. While this may be "obvious" to anyone who plays acoustic through an amp, it is not pointed out or discussed in other reviews. The box itself might be a great addition, but the amplifier is one factor that also needs to be considered when buying the Baggs.

At first, i didn't want to spend $160 on the PAra Acoustic and was aiming to buy the APhex Acoustic Xicter that ran under $100. I did my research and found many professionals highly recommended the PAra Acoustic. I took a calculated risk and bought it and am very pleased with my decision.
The Para Acoustic has eight Knobs to control bass, tremble, presence and others this can look complicated but it comes with a simple instruction manual that shows you how to effectively tweak it.
The members in my band love the new rich sound from my acoustic which before tinny and inaudible.
Definate Buy for Acoustic players and other instruments like the violin which need a active DI Box to control and boost their sound.

I've been using one of these for a few years now and I love it. I play a Seagull acoustic that I had a piezo pickup installed in. The parametric EQ on the LR Baggs box lets me dial out the harsh tinny sounds that are over emphasized by the pickup, and dial in the warmer tones to more closely match the un-amplified sound of my guitar. I use this as a direct box live, for recording, and as an EQ when I run my guitar into an old tube amp I like to use. It works great for me in every case, and I highly recommend it over other Acoustic DIs I've tried.
