SInce this is my first guitar, I can't comment on how it sounds, as compared to other guitars. I purchased this unit solo without an amp (which I purchased at a later date). The guitar came prestrung (I'm assuming all come that way) however you have to tune it yourself. For me, the guitar seems to lose its tune almost every day. Now, this could be from various reasons but tuning is simple with a tuning device. It came with a cord and allen wrench for adjustments to the neck.
No whammy bar, so, use your fingers!
I mainly chose this guitar for its looks and that, it did deliver!

I dig the tone, the shape, I find myself able to play faster than before (good action)
Only thing that put me off is how the fretboard and headstock are heavier than the body itself, sometimes making it awkward to hold. It's something small in the overall experience however.
I highly recommend the guitar to anyone learning, heck, even those who have been playing for a while!

I am 15 years old and in a metal band. When i got this guitar, it was the missing link in creating heavy music. The sound so heavy and dark, and the quality is at it's perfection. The price is one to die for and with a good amp you can rock out.

Its a great guitar. One thing it could improve on is general sound. But when hooked up with a distrotion pedal and a nice amp, depending on what your going to play, for metal and infused metal. Its just great. I love it and Bc Rich is just a great guitar company. Also Squire fenders are just as good with a distrotion pedal and amp.
